What do you think when you hear
the word “organic”? To many, the term “organic” is confusing
and might even have negative connotations. Quite simply, organic food is food
that is grown and processed without the use of genetic engineering, synthetic
or artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fumigants, growth
regulators, antibiotics, preservatives, dyes, additives, chemical coatings or
irradiation.
And if you think that sounds like a mouthful, consider the alternative.
When you eat some non-organic foods, you may be digesting any number of chemicals
designed to alter the natural state of the food. How does that affect the taste?
It’s hard to say, but organic ingredients leave nothing between you and
the food. You get that fresh-from-the-earth flavor that Nature intended…and
that’s a very, very good thing. |
